INVITATION FOR CANDIDATES OF THE ALUMNI MANAGER ELECTION, SUSPENSION OF ADMISSION OF NEW MEMBERS AND APPOINTMENT TO THE ADJUDICATION COMMITTEE
The Executive Committee invites candidates of the Alumni Manager Election to be conducted by the Alumni Association. Admission to the Alumni Association’s membership will be suspended from 23 June 2025. The Executive Committee has appointed 5 Voting Members to the Adjudication Committee. |
The nomination and Alumni Manager Election
Under the constitution of the School’s IMC, the term of office of the current Alumni Manager in the school’s IMC will end on 31 August 2025. As such, The Alumni Association will nominate a person for registration with the Education Bureau as Alumni Manager for the next term. Unless uncontested, the Alumni Association’s nomination shall be based on the result of an election (the “Alumni Manager Election”) expected to be conducted by the Alumni Association in mid-2025.
Invitation for candidates
The Executive Committee invites candidates at the Alumni Manager Election. A circular giving information on the School’s IMC, Alumni Managership, eligibility to candidature and steps to be taken by interested parties will be uploaded to the Alumni Association’s web site at www.bhjsalumni.com.
Suspension of admission of new members
Candidature at the Alumni Manager Election will be restricted to Voting Members (as defined in the Alumni Association’s Articles of Association) of the Alumni Association. Admission to the Alumni Association’s membership will be suspended from 23 June 2025 to 13 July 2025, both dates inclusive. In the event that not more than one nomination is received by the Alumni Association by 11 July 2025, admission of new members will be resumed on 13 July 2025.
Appointment to the Adjudication Committee
An unsuccessful candidate at the Alumni Manager Election may appeal in written to the Alumni Association and such appeal shall be considered and dealt with by a panel constituted by 3 members of the Adjudication Committee.
The Executive Committee has on 1 June 2025 appointed CHAN Ka Po, LAM Ho Ching, TANG Wai Hin Wesley, WONG Mee Mai Emily and WONG Pui Yiu Beatrice to the Adjudication Committee. Each of CHAN Ka Po, LAM Ho Ching, TANG Wai Hin Wesley, WONG Mee Mai Emily and WONG Pui Yiu Beatrice has individually undertaken to the Alumni Association that he/she will not participate in the Alumni Manager Election, neither as a candidate, nominator or voter.
Definitions
In this announcement, the following expressions have the following meaning unless the context otherwise requires.
“Alumni Association” | Bishop Hall Jubilee School Alumni Limited (何明華會督銀禧中學校友會有限公司), a company incorporated in Hong Kong on 6 March 2000 |
“Alumni Manager” | a manager of the School who is nominated by the Alumni Association for registration as such under section 40AP of the Ordinance |
“Alumni Manager Election” | an election conducted by the Alumni Association for the purpose of electing such person to be nominated by the Alumni Association for registration as Alumni Manager |
“Executive Committee” | the Executive Committee of the Alumni Association |
“IMC” | incorporated management committee |
“School” | Bishop Hall Jubilee School |
