Dear donars of the Ringo Chan Art Foundation,

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

It is very unfortunate that Hong Kong need to face a big fire tragedy on 26 November 2025 in Tai Po with loss of 161 lives including one fireman. However, this disaster also showed the spirit of mutual help, compassion, generosity of donations of money and daily utilities and quick action of Hong Kong people demonstrating their hearts of caring of neighbours.

As I am a medical personnel, I had the chance of doing temporary voluntary work related to the survivors of this fire tragedy. I had listened to their stories and attended their medical needs. Some stories are very touching. I encountered a son coming back from UK immediately to take care of both parents and stay for one month in HK. One lady initially showed a very sad facial expression but suddenly changed to a smiling face. I asked WHY and she said that she could feel some warmth while seeing voluntary workers to relieve their sufferings and attend their needs on site. No matter the reason the victims came, they include family members who accompanied them can feel our heart of service and will be comforted with intimate and immediate encounter. I think this scholarship carries the same meaning of our caring, sensitivity and attentive to the needs of our young students in BHJS. I hope that the students can also feel our passion and be encouraged in promoting the importance of arts in the holistic health of a person. Before I reported some financial situation of the scholarship, I would like to share the photos of the awardees and their thank you letters.

The above are the thank you cards and the photos of the 11 awardees with the headmistress Ms. Vicky Law in 2025 taken on the 62nd speech day.
